Thanks in advance.
Hey Jennifer,
OMG I read ur 15 random facts and I was like “this is me!” You make it possible now for my hair to actually grow now! I need to know ur secret How did u get ur hair to grow? What products did u use?
Ok! Here goes.
1. I’ve always had healthy hair. My Aunt made a doll after me with a lot of hair!
2. I’ve always had a love for Design and style and was influenced by women of great beauty as my mother and grandmothers and Aunts were all gorgeous women. Some were really classic beauties and others were strong unusual beauties, who had character in their faces, but strong like chielsed granite, strong cheekbones and just wonderful women. I wanted to follow in their footsteps. I’ve searched for years for a stylist to give me what I eventually found with a Dominican stylist. I feel as if I am home.
3. After being with a Dominican stylist for a while and saw her restore my hair to its prior health (I’d put a curl in and destroyed it) I wanted to color my hair for the longest but was too afraid of looking like a hoochy mama…(I am originally from N.C. and was taught, women who color their hair were harlots)…what can I say!
4. After going to a Dominican stylist, my hair is now the color I’ve always wanted it to be, like my older sister’s was naturally when we were children. Her color was light golden brown, that sparkled in the sunlight. My hair is now light golden brown, with highlights, that sparkles in the sunlight. Thank you my Dominican hair sytlist!
5. LOVE, LOVE LOVE Cellophanes and my stylist did use the Sabastian Cellophanes, but they stopped making them and due to Round brush have found out about Color Showers…YEA!
6. I go every week to the salon and will do so until the day I die or end up in a nursing home, and even then they will have to roll me in.
7. THis shows you how much I love my Dominican stylist. Have you ever heard a woman say she couldnt’ wait until she goes GRAY?!!! Well, I can’t wait until I go seriously gray and hope it is like my Grandma-ma!s She had beautiful silvery threads, that sparkled like diamonds naturally. I can’t wait to see what my Dominican stylist does wth my hair when I go gray!!! I’m thinking it will be beautiful…like Grandma-ma’s!
8. Even though I am blond now, I would would like to try a chocolate brunette color, just to see how I would look, but I love my blonde too much to change. Oh the angst!
9. When I first went blonde, I designed my own color. Not a lot of people were blonde then (well women of color you didn’t see it, you saw a lot of reds and browns). Now I see every celebrity of color imagineable with my initial blonde color and I don’t like that. I like to be unique. Thank God my stylist is the bomb and I consider her to be an “artiste” and she has given me a varity of blonde that no one else wears. So I don’t know what shade of blonde will be next. I am thinking “Plantinum” but am not sure it will go with my skin tone.
I am sure she will know though. She once gave me this blonde, it was sort of like Grace Kelly’s but it looked like it had slivery threads running through it. OMG! It was beautiful! But she never told me what colors she mixed to archieve that. I secretyl like that because she always surprises me! I love her artistry. And she knows it. LOL!
10. I can’t wait to try the products on this site. EVen though I go to my stylist every week, I still want to try some of these. My stylist is very secretive and will not tell you what she uses. She keeps her cards very close to her chest. But this site has given me a peeping clue.
11. I LOVE MY STYLIST!!!!
12. I love my stylist! And I love the Alfaparf Semi Di Lino hair oil she introduced me to. . It is the absolute bomb! I do not use any other daily maintence hair oil on my hair, I love it.
13. I love it when my significant other says, “You look beautiful! I LOVE IT! He usually says it on Wednesdays when I come from the salon and greets me with a huge hug, a kiss…and a glass of wine when I walk in the door…thanks to my stylist!
14. Does anyone know of a Dominican conditioner that looks like it is green liguid and it smells like heaven? My stylist uses this but she will not divulge what it is and it is the bomb! From reading this site, and looking over the product list, I am wondering if it is here, but I just do not know the name! It is not watery, but it is of a substantive consistency. I wouldn’t say oily, but it could be, but not terrilby so-it could be a prewash oil? (Learned this from Roundbrush just reading today!) But I know it when she uses it because it smells like heaven. Like perfume. It looks like it is green, but may also be a greenish, golden color….anybody?
15. I love Roundbrush, we’ve needed you for a long time! I love Dominican Hair cosmotologists and I think they are doing a great service in the hair care industry for women of color. I am appalled at how many years the American African-American hair companies have been selling us ##$$#! for our hair and really horrible products! Thank God the Dominicans have arrived! You guys should really patent your products, these products are the bomb. And can someone tell me where there are stores besides Roundbrush, where I can walk in and purchase what I need when I can’t go on- line? I live in the Washington, D.C., Cleveland Park area, there was a store on Columbia Road but it closed…”Beauty Island”…Anybody! Where is Beauty Island now?
Fifteen things…..my thought on hair. Hair goes…

5. I think I have a complex about having long hair since my hair was horrible in my childhood.
6. I can’t remember the last time I had a trim….months maybe?
7. I think Dominican stylists cut too much during a trim. Then if they cut what I tell them, it IS too little. Can we meet in the middle?
8. My linen closet is also a hair product graveyard. I try to give them away, which is horrible since I think they are crap.
9. I wrap after a roller set at the salon. When washing at home, I blow dry.

12. I will never wear a weave or wig….unless I go bald.
13. I too have seen the weave tumbleweeds on occasion.
14. In the summer I try to wash and wear my relaxed hair with Lacio-Lacio. Might be like when someone has a bad weave. It looks horrible, but no one tells them so.

11. I DEF don’t miss the burn of a relaxer…

13. I’ve probably spent the same as a 2 year’s tution on hair products since I’ve been natural

15. I’m sad that I didn’t hear about how great Dominican Products were before I went natural.

11. I no longer us direct heat on my hair, I only use a hooded dryer on low to dry my roller sets.
12. I recently learned to embrace my new growth so now I only get relaxers every 3 months (every 12-13 weeks)
13. I haven’t been to a Dominican Hair Salon yet because I can’t find one in my area but I really want to try one.
14. Oh I all most forgot, last year I purchased about $50 or more worth of vitamins that claim to grow you hair but the funny thing is I can’t swallow pills. (I know it’s funny but don’t laugh at me Lol)
15. In my opinion no one can roller set my hair like ME!!!
16. The only time I go to a hair salon is when it’s time for me to get a relaxer (every 3 months)
17. I just love trying new hair products even though I have a closet full of products I need to use up.
18. Let me stop because I can go on and on about Hair!!! Happy Hair Journey ladies and God Bless!!!
